Samsung's Bixby delivers a scorching hot rap burn on Siri ... if you know how to ask it

The fight between Samsung's built-in AI assistant Bixby and Apple's Siri just escalated to a full on rap beef.

Aside from one-upping Siri's assistant capabilities (Bixby goes beyond simply answering questions and can assist users in all sorts of phone functionality), Samsung's AI also delivers some secret jabs at Siri ... if you know how to ask for them.

After Samsung rolled out Bixby to Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices in South Korea this week, several users noticed the hidden insult could be accessed by asking Bixby to "please rap."

One Reddit user discovered that by looking at the first letters of each starting word in one of Bixby's Korean rap verses, the AI spells out the message: "I am better than Siri" (시리보다 내가 낫다).

Bixby's got bars!

Now several users are turning Bixby into a secret rap god by uploading videos to YouTube of Bixby rapping over some sick old and new school beats. And the AI assistant appears to have multiple verses at the ready.

In all fairness, Siri canbeatbox, but that just seems far less impressive now.

Because the rap is in Korean, we conducted our own in-house translation to see what Bixby raps:

Even when time flies by it doesn’t change

Rhythm of Bixby

Do you know all you see, if I told you you would know

Tell me again, Bixby

I will rap, please sing for me

Cherish it deep in your heart, bixby

If you let me go and forget me, it doesn’t matter

Tell me again, Bixby

While this is an epic debut, Bixby probably shouldn’t gloat just yet. Bixby shouldn't be gloating just yet. The window for the Galaxy S8's U.S. pre-order just ended but Bixby’s U.S. arrival has been delayed to "later this spring." We also don’t know whether Bixby’s rapping skills will work in English.

Still, this was a valiant shade-throwing effort on Samsung's part and a future rap battle is definitely in order.
